CompTIA Cloud+ is the result of ascension of cloud technologies that are becoming an integral part of today's computing environment. Cloud+ endorses your skills and knowledge of cloud computing environments to deliver cloud infrastructure. Ideally, you should have 2 to 3 years of work experience in networking, storage, or data center administration including basic understanding of any major hypervisor technologies for server virtualization

This exam is about cloud technologies, therefore, it endorses your skills and knowledge of cloud basics and methodologies, implement, verify and deliver cloud technologies and infrastructure including server, storage, network, and virtualization technologies. You should also be proficient in aspects of IT security and the industry best practices regarding cloud implementations and virtualization implementation.

Although not required, CompTIA recommends that you should have the following certification prior to attempting CompTIA Cloud+:

• CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA, though CompTIA certifications are not required.
• Have at least 24-36 months of work experience in IT networking, network storage, or data center administration.
• Familiarity with any major hypervisor technologies for server virtualization, though vendor-specific certifications in virtualization are not required.

This exam covers the following major topics:

1. Cloud Concepts and Models
2. Virtualization
3. Infrastructure
4. Resource Management
5. Security
6. Systems Management
7. Business Continuity in the Cloud

There are a total of 100 questions to be answered in 90 minutes (Computer-based test, multiple-choice questions). The passing score is 750 out of 900.

CompTIA Cloud+ is valid for three years. If you do not renew your certification within three years, you will no longer be certified and must retake the exam to reactivate your certification.

If you want to make a mark in cloud environment, CompTIA Cloud+ is your best bet. This exam will certify that you have the knowledge and skills to understand standard cloud terminologies and to implement, maintain and deliver cloud technologies and infrastructures efficiently. You will be tested for your knowledge of IT security and best practices related to cloud implementation.

It is advised to take CompTIA Cloud essentials exam along with cloud+. With these certifications, you can get a job of cloud administrator with a base salary starting from $43000 to $57000 annually.
