GMAT also known as Graduate Management Admission Test is one of the most widely accepted examination for graduate management programs. It is one of the pre requisites for admissions in business schools and institutions. GMAT does not aim at developing skill sets rather it tests individuals whether they possess the required skills to go through with the management programs or not.   • Integrated Reasoning: It tests the ability to extract information from the given data. To ensure that one could grasp different forms of representation the data is provided through different formats. Integrated Reasoning is awarded 30 minutes and the total number of questions is 12.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: The questions in the following section are all mathematical in nature and the total number of questions involved is 37. It is mandatory to finish the section in 75 minutes.
  • Verbal Reasoning: Verbal skills include the ability to read, understand and answer the questions provided. This section is also 75 minutes long but the number of questions is 41.

Relationship between GMAT scores and Career Building

The GMAT score has a direct bearing on the career of an individual as most of the companies recruit students directly from business schools and colleges. Top tier schools such as Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School Of Business, University Of Chicago etc. are entertained by world ranking employers therefore student from these colleges get first preference in the recruitment process. Business schools accept GMAT scores as the primary basis for admissions therefore GMAT scores have a strong relationship with career building and growth. Average score for GMAT is 540 approximately but one has to aim for much higher in order to get admission into good business schools. Mid six hundreds are the starting range of scores that is considered good or above average. Most of the top tier business schools prefer candidates with score higher than seven hundreds which makes it important for test takers to prepare well in advance in order to aim so high.
